Details of Disappearance:
On November 17, 1983, David Miller vanished. He and his dad were driving separately on Route 254 in Virginia when his dad noticed Miller’s truck was gone. He found Miller stopped behind another truck, seemingly helping someone, and drove on. Miller was never seen again.

Miller was about to get married. His fiancée’s stepfather, Charles Almond, reported him missing. It turned out Miller had been parked behind Almond’s truck that day. Before his disappearance, Miller accused Almond of abusing his fiancée, and they argued.

Miller’s truck was found abandoned and cleaned in Richmond a month later. An anonymous letter claimed he was fine and had left his family, but his family didn’t believe it.

In 2015, 32 years later, Almond was charged with Miller’s murder. He lived near where Miller disappeared. Almond had a criminal history, and had recently been accused (but not convicted) of attempted murder by poisoning.

At Almond’s trial in 2016, eleven people testified Almond confessed to shooting, dismembering, and dissolving Miller’s body in acid. Almond’s own son and Miller’s fiancée testified against him. Almond’s defense claimed the witnesses were lying, but he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. He died in prison in 2020.

Because of the argument, the lack of a body, Almond’s confession, and his criminal history, foul play is believed to be responsible for Miller’s disappearance.
