Details of Disappearance:
On November 6, 1997, 13-year-old Ricky disappeared from his home in Bristow, Indiana. His stepfather, John Martin, last saw him around 11:30 a.m. Ricky called his cousin, Daisy, around 1-2 p.m., saying he was walking to her house (about a mile away) to spend the night. He planned a trip to Tell City with Daisy and mentioned having $20 for McDonald’s. He was last seen walking on Oak Ridge Road.

He never reached Daisy’s, and his mother, Tina, didn’t report him missing until the next day. Ricky took two backpacks and his wallet, but left his money and other belongings behind. His two puppies were gone, which his family found unusual.

Ricky had behavioral problems and was recently expelled from school. His parents were supposed to homeschool him but were both at work when he disappeared. Both Tina and John took lie detector tests, but the results weren’t made public. John is considered a possible suspect, partly because he didn’t help search for Ricky and later admitted to anonymously planting Ricky’s snow globe to make it seem like he was still alive.

Daisy thinks Ricky ran away, but police suspect foul play. Ricky’s father died later, unrelated to this case. The case remains unsolved.
