- Details of Disappearance:
- On July 23, 2007, Bethea disappeared from a rural area near Milton, North Carolina. He went for a walk in the woods with someone from his care home, Corbett’s Family Care Home, but only the other person came back. Bethea was last seen around noon walking on Hudson Road. Search dogs couldn’t find any trace of him.
He’d only been at Corbett’s for ten days. Before that, he lived at another care home, D&H, for six months but was kicked out for smoking. He was upset about the move and talked to his mom about his problems before disappearing. His family thinks something bad, maybe an accident, happened to him after he left, and that he didn’t just leave on his own. He grew up in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The police haven’t solved the mystery of what happened to him.
