- Details of Disappearance:
- Maxwell disappeared from her Charlotte, North Carolina home on March 1, 1992. She told her family she was going to meet someone and never came back. Police were notified on March 17th.
Maxwell used crack cocaine and had a history of drug and prostitution offenses. She knew another missing woman, Devonne Dubose, who also vanished in 1992.
Police think both women may have been killed by serial killer Henry Louis Wallace. Wallace confessed to killing 11 women in Charlotte in 1994, all African-American and many known to him. While he didn’t admit to killing Maxwell or Dubose, they fit the pattern of his other victims.
Maxwell’s disappearance remains a mystery, and police believe she was likely murdered.
