- Details of Disappearance:
- On April 8, 2011, David Hourihan disappeared. He left home in his wife’s white car (a Chevrolet Cavalier with a Winnie the Pooh sticker) at 6:30 a.m., dressed for his electrician job in Richmond, Virginia. He wasn’t actually scheduled to work that day.
He stopped for breakfast at a grocery store in Palmyra, Virginia, around 8:00 a.m., and then vanished. He was supposed to meet a friend, but never showed up.
Fifty days later, his car was found abandoned in a Target parking lot in La Plata, Maryland – about 115 miles from his home. His work clothes and valuable tools were still in the car, and there was no sign of a struggle. Security footage from the Target was lost.
Hourihan was married with a young daughter. His wife says he wouldn’t have left them and believes he was murdered. They didn’t know anyone in Maryland.
Police think several people were involved and that they likely knew Hourihan. The case is unsolved, and police suspect foul play.
