- Details of Disappearance:
- On August 15, 1993, Anderson and his girlfriend, Kristen Diede, took her kids to their grandparents’ house in North Dakota. Later, Kristen called friends, saying she was having trouble getting her children back. She and Anderson then visited her brother before heading home. They vanished.
Five days later, their Dodge van was found abandoned in South Dakota, over 100 miles away. They left all their belongings at home in Minnesota. Kristen was getting a divorce.
Police first thought they ran away, but Kristen’s family knew she wouldn’t leave her kids. Investigators now believe Anderson and Diede were murdered, but the case remains unsolved.
