- On May 25, 1983, Adler disappeared. She was last seen in Loxahatchee, Florida, after visiting her boyfriend. She was driving her red 1977 Toyota Celica. She was supposed to meet friends at a bar in Tamarac, but never showed up.
Four days later, her car was found crashed into a tree on a lonely dirt road near Royal Palm Beach. The car’s battery was gone. There were directions to where she’d been earlier, written by Adler herself. Police found no sign anyone was badly hurt in the crash. They searched a nearby canal for her, but couldn’t find her.
Adler lived in Tamarac, and police are treating her disappearance as a murder.
