- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Douglass may have a mustache. He has short and stubby feet, scars on both of his ankles, and moles on his back and on his buttocks. His head is enlarged. His nickname is Ron.
- Details of Disappearance:
- In March 1983, Douglass vanished while touring the Midwest with a gospel music group called the Whitey Gleason Trio in Springfield, Missouri. He was staying at a motel with the Gleasons. When the Gleasons returned from a short trip, Douglass and all his belongings were gone. They found a note supposedly from Douglass saying he was leaving to travel alone and would be in touch.
Douglass’s mom searched for him, hiring a private investigator and working with police in Missouri, Texas, and Kansas. Douglass had connections to Texas, and his mom lived in Kansas at the time. Despite a tip that he might have stayed in Springfield, and extensive investigation, no one ever found him. His last contact was a letter to his mother on February 17, 1983. She said he was always independent. The case remains a mystery, and some records might incorrectly show Texas as his location when he disappeared.
