Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Douglass may have a mustache. He has short and stubby feet, scars on both of his ankles, and moles on his back and on his buttocks. His head is enlarged. His nickname is Ron.
Details of Disappearance:
In March 1983, Douglass vanished while touring the Midwest with a gospel music group called the Whitey Gleason Trio in Springfield, Missouri. He was staying at a motel with the Gleasons. When the Gleasons returned from a short trip, Douglass and all his belongings were gone. They found a note supposedly from Douglass saying he was leaving to travel alone and would be in touch.

Douglass’s mom searched for him, hiring a private investigator and working with police in Missouri, Texas, and Kansas. Douglass had connections to Texas, and his mom lived in Kansas at the time. Despite a tip that he might have stayed in Springfield, and extensive investigation, no one ever found him. His last contact was a letter to his mother on February 17, 1983. She said he was always independent. The case remains a mystery, and some records might incorrectly show Texas as his location when he disappeared.
