- On July 3, 2007, Osborne was canoeing with a friend on the Sacramento River near Red Bluff, California. Their canoe flipped over. His friend, who was wearing a life jacket, was rescued, but Osborne wasn’t. The friend said he saw Osborne in the water, holding onto a life jacket and trying to swim, but then lost sight of him. Osborne has disappeared and is believed to have drowned. Searchers found the life jacket Osborne was using, but never found him.
