Details of Disappearance:
Giles disappeared in Los Angeles on January 10, 1991. Her family thinks she might have been killed by the “Grim Sleeper,” a serial killer who murdered several African-American women in the 1980s and again starting in 2002.

Lonnie Franklin Jr. was caught and convicted of killing 10 women (and attempting to kill another) in 2016. He was sentenced to death but died in prison in 2020. Police believe he may have killed many more.

The families of some other missing women believe they were also Grim Sleeper victims. These women, like Giles, were involved in drugs and prostitution and were often seen near where Franklin lived. Police found photos and videos of many women at Franklin’s house.

While Giles isn’t officially linked to Franklin, her disappearance is still a mystery. The case remains unsolved.
