Details of Disappearance:
Roxann Tolson vanished from her home in Post Falls, Idaho, on August 14, 2005. Her husband, William, said she was gone when he returned from errands, but waited four months to report her missing. This raised suspicions, especially since William then sold many of Roxann’s belongings, cashed her checks, and used her medications. He also sold her car and emptied her bank account.

A taxi driver claimed to have driven Roxann to the airport, but police found his story untrue. Police also noted Roxann left behind personal items she likely would have taken if she left willingly. This, along with the husband’s actions, led investigators to suspect foul play.

William and his son, Larry, were charged with illegally using Roxann’s prescriptions after her disappearance, but this was unrelated to the missing person case. Larry passed a lie detector test and is not a suspect, but William gave conflicting accounts of what happened and remained a person of interest.

Larry described a troubled marriage with domestic violence, stating that he’d defended his mother from his father. He believes his father was responsible for his mother’s disappearance, possibly accidentally during a fight. Neighbors reported a loud argument at the Tolson home around the time Roxann disappeared.

Even a visit from an FBI agent to William’s deathbed in 2014 failed to elicit a confession. Roxann Tolson’s disappearance remains a mystery.
