- On May 5, 1982, at 12:20 p.m., Russell was playing in the sandbox in his backyard. His family lived in a trailer park on River Road in Wheatfield, New York. The backyard was fenced in. His mom went inside their home to fix one of his toys, and that’s the last time anyone saw him.
