Details of Disappearance:

Samantha Kibalo disappeared from Suffern, New York on February 3, 2001. Her mother, Ann, took her during a court-ordered visit. Ann and Samantha’s dad, Michael, were divorced, and Ann falsely accused Michael of abusing Samantha. Doctors found no evidence of abuse. A psychiatrist believed Ann had Munchausen syndrome by proxy (making a child sick for attention), and recommended Michael have custody.

Ann is wanted for kidnapping and other charges. She’s about 5’0″, 120 pounds, Caucasian, with brown hair (possibly blonde and short now) and blue eyes. She might wear glasses or brown contacts and uses different last names (Yermak, Saul, Kaplan). She has an accounting background.

Ann and Samantha were last seen in a black 1996 Suzuki Sidekick with a gold bumper. The car was found later in Brooklyn. They may be in New York City, Florida (Palm Beach County or Boynton Beach), Illinois, New Hampshire, or even New Mexico (unconfirmed sightings). They may be with a female relative and their dog, Vodka (a small red Tibetan Spaniel/Terrier).

Samantha is considered at risk because of her mother’s possible abuse. Michael is searching for her and believes Ann may be homeschooling Samantha and using false names. The case is still unsolved.
