Details of Disappearance:: On October 14, 2006, Samuel disappeared while hiking with his dad at Crater Lake National Park. He ran ahead and vanished. Despite a big search, he was never found. It was cold, wet, and snowy that day, so he probably couldn’t have survived long without help. Samuel liked camping, but wasn’t trained for surviving in the wilderness. He lived in Portland, Oregon, and loved being outdoors. His favorite things were root beer, mac and cheese, corn dogs, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Legos, and Tinkertoys. Police don’t think anyone did anything bad to him; they think he got lost or hurt and died in the park. His family had a memorial service for him in November 2006.
