- Maria Hernandez vanished from Redlands, California in October 1994. Eight years later, in 2000, her bones were found buried in San Diego County. It wasn’t until 2008 that they were identified as hers. Then, in December 2009, her landlady, Seferina Marquez Ponce, was arrested and charged with her murder. Ponce’s trial is still pending.
