Details of Disappearance:
Shari Booth, a college student studying marine biology, disappeared during a scuba diving trip in Washington state on May 19, 2008. She was diving with her class near Anacortes when she didn’t come back up. After a big search, they couldn’t find her, and it’s believed she drowned.

Her mom sued the university and her diving instructor, saying they hadn’t properly trained Shari or prepared her for the dive, and that the instructor didn’t do enough to save her. The lawsuit was settled in 2016, but no one admitted they were at fault, and the details of the settlement are private. Shari’s body was never found.
