- Shawn disappeared from his home in Bluefield, West Virginia on May 13, 2004. About ten months later, in March 2005, someone found his skull near a house on Fifth Street in the same town. It took a whole year to figure out it was Shawn’s skull. He likely died around eight months after he ran away, and police are still trying to find out exactly what happened.
