Details of Disappearance:
Shirley disappeared from Broken Bow, Oklahoma on May 23, 1975. She called her sister to say she was going on a trip with her boyfriend, Alex. Shirley’s car was later found abandoned, with some of her belongings inside – including flowers she was going to put on graves.

Alex was abusive to Shirley and his ex-wife. Shirley even told her sister that if she ever disappeared, Alex probably did it. Police suspected Alex, but never charged him. He died in prison in 1993 from a heart attack (he was in prison for rape).

Someone told police Alex killed Shirley because she was going to expose a secret about his family. Police think her body might be in a well on his family’s property in Etna, Arkansas. Shirley has never been found.
