- On October 4, 1982, a man named Woelki was last seen at a grocery store in Hackettstown, New Jersey. He told a friend he had some errands and would be home soon. Later that evening, he called his dad from his part-time job at a packing house in Long Valley, asking his dad to help him with work the next day. His dad said he sounded normal.
The next day, the packing house owner found Woelki’s car unlocked at the packing house, with the window down and his keys missing. Woelki never showed up to meet his dad. Police investigated, but found no clues or signs of a fight. The packing house was later torn down, and the site was carefully checked, but Woelki was never found. His disappearance remains a mystery.
