- Baby Skyla Marburger disappeared in 1995. She was last seen with her parents in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on September 1st, but they returned to Texas without her. Police suspect something bad happened to her.
Skyla’s parents won’t talk to the police, claiming they have the right to remain silent. However, Skyla’s grandmother reportedly said her dad told her Skyla died and was buried under a tree.
Skyla was born at home without a doctor, and her parents belong to a group that avoids medical care. They also had a previous child taken away by the state because they refused medical treatment. They have criminal records and were homeless, traveling the West Coast in 1995. Skyla’s mom even got pregnant again after Skyla vanished.
Police think Skyla died in late October 1995 and might be buried in a national park near Healdsburg, California. Some records might show October 1st as her disappearance date. The case is still unsolved, and Texas police are investigating.
