Kingston’s nickname is Roxie (sometimes spelled “Roxy”) and some accounts spell her first name “Sonja.”
Details of Disappearance:
Kingston disappeared on July 2, 2002, from Greensboro, North Carolina. She was driving a dark green 1995 Mazda Protege (license plate PTL-7712) and hasn’t been seen since.

Police think foul play was involved because Kingston was involved in the drug trade. She worked as a dancer and was romantically linked to a major drug and gun smuggler, Elton Turnbull. She smuggled drugs for him and even recruited other women to do the same. After a drug arrest in November 2001 (Turnbull bailed her out), he stopped using her for smuggling, but they remained a couple. She was also reportedly dating another drug dealer.

Rumors about her disappearance range from murder (with her body possibly in Virginia or New York) to her being alive and living in the Virgin Islands or New York. Interestingly, Turnbull is also connected to another missing person case from Greensboro (Sterling Porter, missing since 1997). Although Turnbull was arrested on drug charges in 2002 and cooperated with the police, he’s never been charged in connection with either disappearance.

It’s unusual that Kingston left home in sweatpants; her friends say she usually dressed up. Her case remains a mystery.
