- Details of Disappearance:
- On April 14, 2008, Romero left his home in Magdalena, New Mexico, to go to Albuquerque for a doctor’s appointment, but he missed it. He did go to the bank in Albuquerque that day. The next day, April 15th, he had breakfast at a cafe in Grants, New Mexico. That’s the last anyone saw or heard from him.
His blue 2003 Ford Ranger truck (license plate FKA103) was found abandoned on April 16th near Grants. Two tires were flat, but not damaged. His truck was unlocked and contained some things like food, drinks, and his walking stick, but his GPS, backpack, and ID were gone. Romero loved to hike, so this is puzzling.
Because nobody knows what happened to him, his disappearance remains a mystery.
