- On June 16, 1984, in Cle Elum, Washington, a group of seven people were canoeing and rafting on the Cle Elum River. Their boats overturned around 1:25 p.m. Everyone was rescued except for one person, Cooke. Cooke went missing after getting caught under a pile of logs in the river. While it’s believed she drowned, her body was never found.
