Details of Disappearance:
Baby Tavish disappeared from Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta on March 9, 1993. He was just a few weeks old and in the hospital’s care after having minor surgery. He was asleep in a semi-private room with another baby and that baby’s family.

A nurse noticed Tavish was missing between 6:45 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The police investigated the roommate’s family and Tavish’s own mother (who had serious mental health issues and was unaware Tavish was in the hospital), but they were cleared as suspects.

Police did focus on two potential suspects:

* A suspicious, agitated man without a pass who tried to enter the children’s ward late at night. He was tall and thin, wearing a baseball cap.
* A woman around 25, about 5’5″ and 160 pounds, with medium-brown skin, strong cheekbones, and almond-shaped eyes. She had dark clothing, wore large earrings, and her hair was in a large bow. She was seen carrying a baby with curly hair.

Police believe a woman pretending to be pregnant might have taken Tavish to raise as her own child. They thought she likely lived within a 24-mile radius of the hospital.

Despite the investigation, Tavish was never found. His mother later sued the hospital and received a $600,000 settlement. The case remains unsolved.
