Details of Disappearance:
Parker disappeared from Redondo Beach, California, between Christmas and December 27th, 1999. She was a sex worker and lived with her boyfriend, Thomas Freeman.

A few weeks before her disappearance, Parker and Freeman had a big fight. She accused him of rape, and he said she threatened him with a knife and damaged his car. A medical exam didn’t find evidence of rape.

Then, Freeman had the carpet in his bedroom replaced, revealing large bloodstains underneath. He gave conflicting stories about Parker’s whereabouts after her disappearance, telling different people she’d gone to Atlanta or Seattle. Her family in both places hadn’t seen her.

Freeman moved out quickly and threw away his mattress, which also had large bloodstains. The police found that the blood on the mattress and in the apartment matched Parker’s DNA from the rape kit. Neighbors also heard a woman scream from his apartment around the time Parker disappeared. More of Parker’s blood was later found on Freeman’s sneaker.

Freeman was offered a plea deal for manslaughter, but he refused. He was eventually convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. His conviction was upheld on appeal. Parker’s body was never found.
