Details of Disappearance:
In August 1975, 18-year-old Fittin disappeared from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After a fight with her boyfriend, she said she was going to her car to cool off and drove away. She was never seen again.

She left everything behind – her apartment, her money ($300!), and didn’t touch her bank accounts. While she and her boyfriend argued often, her family was surprised by his claim that she was pregnant; they didn’t know about it. They knew she sometimes smoked marijuana, but not heavily.

Ten days later, her wallet was found in a library. Her car, a gray-green 1964 or 1966 Nash Rambler (license plate 10-16425), is still missing. Police think she might have gone to Tennessee, Colorado, or Pennsylvania.

Fittin was a high school senior, worked at a hotel, and wanted to be an oceanographer or artist. Her family says she acted normally before she vanished. Her parents are still alive and hoping for answers; there’s even a bench for her at a cemetery where she’ll be buried if found.

Police suspect she was a victim of foul play and are investigating her disappearance as a possible murder.
