- On January 6, 1991, after a date, 22-year-old Slaugenhoupt went home to her Pittsburgh apartment. She told her roommate she was going to a nearby store and vanished. She was supposed to go to a job interview the next day.
Slaugenhoupt had struggled with alcohol abuse since high school. While her relationship with her mother was difficult because of this, they stayed in contact. Her mother last saw her at Christmas 1990. Slaugenhoupt’s brother tried to see her on January 8th, but she was gone.
No one has seen or heard from Slaugenhoupt since she left her apartment. Her mother hopes she’s still alive but finds it hard to believe she would disappear without a word. The case is still a mystery.
