Details of Disappearance:
On November 15, 2015, Mr. Messick went hunting near Brant Lake, New York, with family and friends. They split up for a while, agreeing to meet back at 2:00 p.m. When Mr. Messick didn’t show up, his group searched for him. They called for help at 4:30 p.m., but even with days of searching by rangers and volunteers, they couldn’t find him.

His wife said he was a very experienced hunter who would know how to mark his trail if he got lost. Because of his age and health, police don’t think he could have wandered far. The mystery of what happened to Mr. Messick remains unsolved, and his family believes he is dead.
