Details of Disappearance:
Willoughby and his girlfriend, Mary Ann Higginbotham, vanished from their Indiana home on June 6, 1978. A year later, Mary Ann’s body was found; she’d been murdered. Her remains were inside a metal drum in a creek, she had been shot. Willoughby, however, has never been found.

Police initially suspected Willoughby killed Mary Ann, but there was no proof. Then, in 1982, someone told police that both Willoughby and Mary Ann were killed by two men, Tomasik and Kellam, who were involved in stealing cars. The tip claimed the couple was silenced to prevent them from talking to the police. Tomasik and Kellam were arrested, but released due to lack of evidence.

Willoughby’s disappearance is considered suspicious because of how Mary Ann was killed and the connection to car theft. The case remains unsolved, and police are still searching for Willoughby’s body.
