Details of Disappearance:
Toni Chiappetta disappeared on November 5, 1981, in Clairton, Pennsylvania. She was a 15-year-old ninth-grader walking home from school to a pep rally when she was last seen around 7:15 pm.

Police initially thought she ran away, but her mom didn’t believe that. Toni was described as a responsible, good girl who enjoyed things like baton twirling and swimming. There was a history of domestic violence in her family, and her father, Sam, is considered a suspect. He failed a lie detector test about her disappearance.

Importantly, Toni’s mom later revealed that Toni’s wet school blouse was found on the laundry line the night she disappeared, suggesting she’d returned home. She kept this from police out of fear of her husband.

Toni’s case remains a mystery, and foul play is suspected. While both her parents are now dead, her sister continues to hope for answers.
