Initially, police thought she ran away, as she’d done once before. However, there were unsubstantiated sightings, and she was close to her mother. Before disappearing, Tracy told a friend she might be pregnant, but the father is unknown.

Seven months later, Tracy’s mother, Jean, was found murdered in Delaware. Greenwald, who had a violent past with Jean (including a kidnapping), was convicted of her manslaughter but died by suicide before sentencing. While he was a suspect in Tracy’s disappearance, police now believe he wasn’t involved.

There’s another unnamed suspect, and although the runaway theory is unlikely, Tracy’s case remains unsolved. Police suspect foul play.
