- Details of Disappearance:
- On January 23, 2011, Winslow disappeared from Oil City, Louisiana. She’d been out with friends the previous night and returned home around midnight. Her boyfriend talked to her on the phone then. Witnesses heard her outside her apartment, followed by a car driving away. She was never seen again.
At 2:30 a.m., her car, a silver 2006 Dodge Charger, was found burned and destroyed near North Lakeshore and Kuhn’s Road.
Her ex-boyfriend, Eddie Lee “Biscuit” Jackson (a photo is available), was arrested for kidnapping and arson. They had been together for 15 years and had three children, but had broken up two months before Winslow vanished. Police think Jackson took Winslow from outside her apartment and burned her car. His phone records put him near the burning car.
Winslow’s two oldest children testified that their father had beaten their mother with a gun and threatened to kill her – this led to the breakup. A cousin said Jackson sent Winslow threatening texts, and she’d even gotten a gun for protection.
Jackson pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty in August 2012. The jury’s decision was quick, and he received a 40-year prison sentence with no parole.
Winslow’s body was never found, but the evidence strongly suggests she was murdered.
