- Bell vanished from her Aurora, Illinois home on May 10, 2003. Years later, in December 2020, her bones and some belongings were discovered buried in the woods of Kane County, Illinois. Scientists used DNA to confirm it was her in March 2021. Police have said she was murdered and are still trying to find out who did it.
