Details of Disappearance:
Veronica disappeared on March 29, 2001, after leaving for school in Tracy, California. Police think her boyfriend, Manuel Antonio Quiroz Jr. (Tony), took her. They were seen together in Nevada in July 2003, and may now be in Mexico, pretending to be brother and sister.

Tony (born August 14, 1974) is Hispanic, 5’9″, 165 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, a birthmark over his right eye, and possibly a mustache. He might use the fake name David Luis Rodriguez (born July 7, 1979). He looks younger than he is and has worked at gas stations and phone companies.

Tony is a dangerous man with a criminal record including sexual assault, battery, and weapons charges. His family, who lived near Tracy but later moved to Texas, is suspected of knowing his whereabouts but isn’t cooperating with police.

Veronica’s family didn’t approve of her relationship with Tony, who lied about his age. Her sister thinks Veronica might have been pregnant and abused by Tony, but this isn’t confirmed. While her family thinks she left with Tony willingly, they now worry she’s being held against her will.

Veronica’s disappearance is suspicious and she’s in danger because of Tony’s past. The case is still unsolved. A picture of Tony is available.
