- On March 23, 1992, a woman named Cross vanished from her home in Sibley, Louisiana. She was separated from her husband but they were trying to work things out and had a therapy appointment scheduled. Her husband went to the appointment, but she didn’t show up. He waited three days before telling her family, who then contacted the police. He later claimed she called him saying she was fine and moving away, but this hasn’t been proven.
Cross was a very successful barefoot water skier, even ranked among the best in the world. She and her husband owned a jewelry store and had a son. Because she’s never been found, she was declared legally dead in 2006. The mystery of her disappearance remains unsolved.
