Details of Disappearance:
A museum director named Alley disappeared. He’d worked at the Davidson County Museum of Art in North Carolina for five years. On February 2nd, 2000, coworkers noticed about $14,750 missing from the museum’s money. After being questioned, Alley quit his job and was last seen leaving his office around 11:00 a.m. that day.

His wife reported him missing because he didn’t pick up their child. He vanished without taking any personal belongings; everything was left at his home. He did leave a note for his wife, but its contents are secret.

Two weeks later, police issued a warrant for his arrest because they believe he stole the museum’s money. No one knows for sure what happened to Alley—maybe he ran away, or maybe something bad happened to him. His family thinks someone harmed him.
