Details of Disappearance:
On June 10, 1962, a woman named Long disappeared. She lived in Mill Valley, California, and was last seen in Marysville. Her husband had taken their three-year-old son to a large ranch near a military base. Long left home with their one-year-old, saying she’d pick up her older son and return. She told her roommate she’d be back for dinner, or to be contacted if she wasn’t. The roommate waited a day before reporting her missing.

Police found Long’s car at the ranch, but not Long. Her husband said her car broke down, so she took a bus home, leaving the kids with him. But bus records show no one bought a ticket to Mill Valley that night.

Long worked at a Safeway, and she and her husband were separated but still exchanged custody of their sons. He took a lie detector test, but the results weren’t clear. He was a war veteran with no legs. Long had expressed worry about going to the ranch before she disappeared. What happened to her remains a mystery.
